Code of Conduct & Ethics
All members of the United Kingdom Hypnosis Society from now on referred to as UKHS sign and adhere to the following code of conduct:
I do hereby agree to the rules and regulations regarding my membership of the above Professional Body:
I shall at all times conduct my professional activities with the propriety and dignity becoming a servant of the public.
I shall not, under any circumstances, infringe the code of morality becoming my profession and shall not commit any breach of conduct that would adversely reflect upon myself, the UKHS, or upon my fellow practitioners.
I shall not, under any circumstances; offer or promise cures for any conditions.
I shall never enter into a sexual relationship with a patient under my care.
I shall endeavour to keep my patients' affairs confidential, the law of the land notwithstanding.
I shall accept that any patient referred to me by a Medical Practitioner remains the clinical responsibility of that Medical Practitioner and therefore shall agree to keep that Medical Practitioner and other relevant agencies up to date with written report(s) of the patient's progress.
I shall under no circumstances advise my patients to discontinue any course of treatment as prescribed by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
I shall at all times respect the integrity of other recognised health care professionals. I shall not claim to have qualifications or credentials I have not earned. Members will only use the title Dr. if they are medically licensed In the country from which they practice to do so, or if their title Is issued in the country from which they practice and/or is legally Apostilled and as such legal in all Countries in the Hague Convention And it is in a subject relevant to hypnotherapy, NLP or related
Psychological Mind Therapies (e.g. Counselling or Psychology) and should not at any time be misused to mislead clients that they have expertise which is not within their professional capabilities.
I shall not become or remain a member of any organisation that has been exposed to public scrutiny as dangerous or fraudulent or which in any way causes detriment to the profession of Hypnotherapy. I accept the authority of the UKHS Council regarding any breach of the above Code of Conduct.
I understand that the UKHS Council can suspend or terminate my membership for infringement of the above Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Members are to provide and use genuine legal testimonials from past clients in their advertising and upon request provide proof of authenticity to clients considering treatment with them, but only when the testimonials have been given voluntarily and are used with the past clients legal consent, co-operation and permission.
Any members found to have or who become convicted of any criminal conviction which could perceptively or genuinely make them a danger to the general public agree that they shall instantly be expelled from the UKHS and agree that in such circumstances they will be placed onto the UKHS warning list for protection of the public.
All members agree to operate within any and all laws which may affect their business in the Country within which they are currently operating.
All members agree to undertake Continual Professional Development of at least 20 hours per year, by way of attending workshops, courses and seminars of an UKHS approved standard.
All members will obtain and have in force at all times Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover at a minimum of £5.000.000 suitable and relevant to the manner and treatment approach to which they are operating within.
Where legally necessary all members agree to register under The Data Protection Act when keeping details of their clients on file as per:

Members will ensure that they are honest at all times in their dealings with the public, fellow professionals and the media and never imply that this industry is bound by any special laws or that membership of any group means more than another given that in UK at least this is a self-regulated industry and no legally recognised body or association exists.
Members will only offer GUARANTEE'S where the context of such is clearly stated and agreed in advance with the client, whereby such guarantee is legal and such guarantee is not misleading in any manner.
In all manners members undertake to abide by any and all laws (which may relate to their profession directly and/or indirectly) such as for example (in UK) Laws etc. relating to advertising and the trades descriptions act, guidance can be found here at these links:

I shall at all times ensure that my membership is paid in full, on the day of renewal or within the 28 days prior to my renewal date, should I wish to leave the UKHS I will inform in writing at least 28 days before my membership expires. And understand that I will no longer be represented by the UKHS
